About
My Journey
Hello, I’m Laura - I’m a sunshine lover with a travel bug who loves all things healing and self-development, from mind-opening books to ecstatic dance! I’m also a Qualified Dramatherapist and Advanced Biodynamic Breathwork practitioner with a passion for empowering others to heal and grow.
I've been on a deep journey within to get to this point. Many years ago I was a lost soul, searching for my place and purpose in the world. Something felt missing, my true potential felt out of reach and I was called to look within.
That healing journey took me around the world, where I lost myself in an abundance of mind and heart-opening healing techniques, to find my authentic self and the purpose I was seeking.
Inspired by what I’d learnt, I returned to the UK to build on my knowledge and grow my skills and help others to free themselves from trauma and tension that keeps them stuck and playing small. I love what I do, and my passion is empowering you to no longer be afraid to truly be seen and take up space and embrace your creative potential.

What is The Meraki Way
My priority is creating a space in which you can feel deeply held and a process in which you can feel fully supported and empowered to explore, feel, process and express what is needed for your own unique healing journey.
I meet you where you are at, working with what arises in the moment at your pace, without judgment, expectation or analysis.
My approach is holistic, bringing together Biodynamic Breathwork and Dramatherapy, offering powerful techniques to explore thoughts, feelings, behaviors and beliefs that are often inaccessible and subconscious, making them difficult to make sense of and work through with traditional talking therapies.
I’m passionate about empowering my clients to develop a secure sense of self and overcome anxiety, stress, depression and low self-esteem – or just a general sense of ‘stuckness’, the feeling that you are not fulfilling your true potential or purpose in life.
Something I feel strongly about is hope – and bringing real relief through introducing more people to these revolutionary healing therapies that work with both body and mind to transform lives to ones of emotional mastery, creative freedom, authentic connection and inner peace.
The Tools
Biodynamic Breathwork and trauma release system
Biodynamic Breathwork is a structured, body-based somatic approach to releasing stored tension, trauma, and stress from the nervous system. It combines six key elements—breath, movement, sound, touch, emotional expression, and meditation—to activate and discharge held energy in seven areas of the body known as the belts of tension.
The somatic element of biodynamic breathwork focuses on how emotions, stress, and trauma are held and expressed through the nervous system, muscles, and physical patterns. Rather than working only through talking or cognition, somatic therapy uses tools like breath, movement, awareness of bodily sensations, and grounding techniques to support regulation and release, making this type of breathwork unique.
Through deep connected breathing and targeted somatic bodywork, this method helps you to complete unresolved stress and trauma responses, regulate the nervous system, and restore natural breathing patterns. It supports emotional integration, increased body awareness, and improved physical and mental well-being (realigning and reconnecting the body and mind).
Many people experience greater clarity, inner peace, resilience, and a stronger sense of self after engaging in this work.

Dramatherapy/ Creative Arts Psychotherapy
Unlike traditional talking therapies, this embodied, creative method allows us to work beyond the limitation of words and our conscious mind to explore and process our material without needing to revisit the past and risk retraumatising or triggering our defense mechanisms or maladaptive coping strategies.
By using story, metaphor, role, characterisation, art and movement we can explore our thoughts, feelings and behaviors in new ways, gaining profound insight into our subconscious unhelpful patterns and empowering change.
Through safe and supported emotional expression and bringing in theatre-based techniques like movement, voice, sound and storytelling, we can move through and process emotional challenges without raking up difficult feelings of the past or triggering past traumas.
Internal Family Systems- Parts work
Somatic Internal Family Systems (Somatic IFS) is based on the understanding that we are not just one fixed personality, but a whole system of “parts”—inner voices, feelings, and patterns that each carry their own roles and intentions. Some parts might show up as protectors, trying to keep us safe from pain. Others may appear as critics, pushing us to perform or do better.
Still, others hold vulnerability, sadness, or trauma that we’ve had to keep hidden. All of these parts develop for good reasons, even if their strategies sometimes feel heavy or overwhelming.
In Somatic IFS, we learn how to recognise and connect with these parts not only through thoughts and emotions, but also through the body—where they often show up as sensations, tensions, breath patterns, or movement impulses.
By slowing down and bringing compassionate attention to the body, we can listen to what each part is carrying and discover what it truly needs. This process allows the protective parts to soften, the hurt parts to feel cared for, and our deeper sense of self—our natural state of calm, clarity, and compassion—to step forward as a wise inner guide.
The benefits of Somatic IFS include greater emotional balance, release of long-held tension, improved relationships with ourselves and others, and a felt sense of wholeness. It’s a way of gently transforming inner conflict into inner harmony by inviting every part of us to be seen, heard, and welcomed home.
